Presenting the MING 37.02 Minimalist

The story behind the 37.02 Minimalist is a significant one. It is the first watch to be designed, engineered and managed internally at our new Swiss facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds. In addition to allowing us more control over the supply chain, it also lets us achieve better lead times and is why today’s launch is with watches in stock and ready to ship!

More importantly, expanding our footprint enables more innovation: the luminous signature of the 37.02 Minimalist is a great example of this. For years and with limited success, we attempted to develop with external suppliers a luminous material that really glows white. Today, we’re proud to announce that we have achieved this in house and the Minimalist debuts a proprietary white emission luminous material –MING Polar White.

MING Polar White has broad spectrum emission and therefore is one of the very few (if not the only) luminous materials to truly glow white instead of being coloured. The 37.02 Minimalist is the first of our watches to feature MING Polar White.

But back to the watch: the 37.02 Minimalist is the maiden piece in what will form our core collection and, for us, continues to embody what we believe an essential and versatile watch should be. It is the philosophical continuation of the 17.01, 27.01 and 37.07. The dial contains distinct luminous elements and inverts under the right light. All indices are laser cut channels in the base sapphire dial, which are then liquid filled by hand with MING Polar White. The distinctive hands remain coated with blue emission Super-LumiNova X1 for contrast and legibility.

The first batch of the MING 37.02 Minimalist is now ready to ship and available for CHF 3,250 from www.ming.watch. For our customers in Hong Kong, a limited number of the Minimalist are available for purchase at our trunk show with the Armoury, from 24 to 27 October 2024.
