We have some exciting updates in store for you in this edition of the MING/Journal.
Firstly, our new moulded FKM rubber straps are now available for purchase online here. The blue version debuted on the 37.09 Bluefin but we also have black and white straps available for CHF 160 each. Or, if you can't decide, you can always get our set of 3 straps in black, white and blue for only CHF 400! Scroll down to learn more about why we think this is the most comfortable strap we have ever made.
Secondly, this year's run of the MING 37.08 Starlight is nearly sold out. With its glittering Aventurine dial - a material that is notoriously delicate but visually captivating - and our 20mm universal bracelet, the Starlight stands out as piece you can wear from morning to night. You can purchase the 37.08 Starlight here or learn more about what makes it special in our Journal.
We are also proud to share that our Founder and Chief Creative, MT, will be speaking on a panel at the Horology Forum in Hong Kong next month. Together with Benoît Mintiens, Founder of Ressence, MT will be sharing his thoughts on the topic "To infinity & beyond: Exploring the next useful mechanical frontier". You can find out more about the event here.
Speaking of Hong Kong, we will be hosting a trunk show with our friends at The Armoury HK in October. Come and experience our current collection in person. More details below!
Not to forget, the MING 37.09 Bluefin, a finalist of the 2024 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), will be on display as part of the GPHG Exhibition roadshows. Starting in Hong Kong on September 28th, don't miss this opportunity to see the Bluefin in person as it travels to Ho Chi Minh City, New York, Geneva and Bucharest this year. Last but not least, we have a surprise for you. The team, with MT as the ringleader, is always experimenting with creating cool stuff. Sometimes they're useful for our work but more often than not, they're created just because we can. After all, if we could make something better, why wouldn't we? Then we thought it would be nice to share some of our fun creations with you. And that is how "From the Drawing Board" was born. Anyway, if you're a fan of lume (you must be if you like our watches!), and have access to a 3D printer, scroll down to the end for a surprise!
IN STOCK: The MING 20mm FKM Rubber Strap
Our new rubber strap is here, featuring curved bars and universal compatibility with all of our other 20mm lug watches. It all started when MT applied his design and engineering expertise into creating the ultimate rubber strap.
It was developed to follow the natural shape of the wrist, with the relaxed curvature of the strap forming a 70x50mm oval. In addition to the sculptural surfacing and our logo on the top, the buckle side is also pocketed to comfortably receive the longer end in the same fashion as our tuck buckle straps. It is keeperless and tapered in thickness to sit comfortably on the wrist, and with a compound balanced between softness for comfort and support for heavier watch heads.
We honestly didn’t think it would be this complex or expensive to develop, but most of the team now believes it is the most comfortable strap we have made.
The MING 20mm FKM rubber strap is available for CHF 160 each or CHF 400 for a set of 3 colours in black, white and blue.

FROM THE DRAWING BOARD: The Lume Cone
The lume cone was created to provide a convenient way to view the lume on our watches, without having to resort to going into the closet and turning off the lights. It's designed to be used with the Nitecore Tip SE torches we use around the office and has cut-outs to position the straps when the watch is laid on a flat surface. In addition, MT designed the eye piece to be at the right height for the focal length on most smartphone cameras for that ultimate lume shot. Try it yourself! Download the MING Lume Cone to create your own 3D printed version.
